Scope and Content

This series consists of records relating to the ownership of Boundary Bay Airport (officially transferred in 1997 from Transport Canada to the Corporation of Delta). The Corporation of Delta is the landowner, the landlord to the various leaseholders, as well as the municipal taxation and regulatory authority of the airport lands. The airport is zoned as industrial land, but also includes land in the Agricultural Land Reserve; much of this is currently leased for agricultural purposes such as topsoil storage and haying, or is considered environmentally sensitive and is leased to the Ministry of Environment. Land north of the B.C. Railway known as the "North 40" is largely unused.
